On Labor Day we spent hours watching Guy eat at Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. And we managed to eat plenty while we watched, even if it wasn’t the mouth-watering pastrami he was sampling.
During one of the shows, Guy mentioned the Food Network campaign, Go Orange for No Kid Hungry, which supports Share Our Strength. More than 16 million kids in America live in households that struggle to put food on the table. That’s one in five kids.
You can help by donating directly to Share Our Strength to support programs that provide access, education and awareness. If you like to eat out as much as Les and I do, you can help by eating out at a participating restaurant that makes a donation for you. And if you’re active on social media, you can assist by posting info on Facebook or Twitter.
You can also help by telling your congressmen to support funding for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), commonly known as food stamps, rather than cutting it.
